Charity game a success Freeze win with decidely victory

 Thanks to all that donated, attended and or helped out at the Police vs. Fire Charity Hockey Game!!!

Almost $1600.00 was raised for Ann and Bill Michael!!!

The FWPD Freeze won the game with a decidedly victory!!!  Thanks to the Allen County Firechasers for helping make the event such a success.

 The Fort Wayne Freeze will be hosting a charity game on Saturday, December 19th 2009 at the Memorial Coliseum against the Allen County Firechasers. 

The benefit game is being held for Freeze player, Fort Wayne Police Sgt. Bill Michael and his wife Ann.  Ann has been suffering from Leukemia, and will be under extensive treatment for the next several months in Indianapolis.  Donations will be accepted to assist with medical and living expenses during this tough and troubled time.

Come out and show your support for Public Safety and for Bill and Ann!
   

FWPD Freeze vs. Chicago PD

FreezelogocalendarOn Saturday April 18, 2009 at 6:00 PM, the Fort Wayne Freeze Hockey team hosted a charity hockey game against the Chicago Police Department at the McMillen Ice Arena. This charity game raised nearly $1500.00 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. An officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department has a 10 month old daughter who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in August of 2008. She is currently receiving daily breathing treatments as well as physical therapy for her condition

 

There was a raffle drawing at the game with tickets $2 each or three tickets for $5. First prize will be a 32” Insignia LCD HDTV. Second prize will be an Edible Arrangement Bouquet. We would like to thank those who attended the charity game and for the Chicago Police Stars for making the trip.  Final score was 11-5 Freeze.
   

Sled Hockey Charity Event

 The FWPD Freeze participated in a charity event for the sled hockey tournament for the disabled.  The event took place at McMillen Ice Arena on February 14-15.

The tournament began at 9:00 am when several youth and adult sled hockey teams from around the region took to the ice.  The FWPD Freeze lined up against the FW Fire at 6:30 in a sled hockey charity game.

On Sunday February 15 the FWPD Freeze laced up the skates against the FW Fire in a hockey game.

We would like to thank all those who came out and supported the area disabled children and adults from the Greater Fort Wayne Area
   

Police/fire vs. ex-K's in benefit

kometsThe Fort Wayne Fire and Police departments are teaming to play some former Komet players in a benefit game at 6:30 p.m. April 19 at McMillen Ice Arena.

The game will raise money for the family of B.J. Lomow, a Northrop hockey player who became critically ill from a staph infection.

Former Komet players scheduled to play are Colin Chin, Steve Fletcher, Doug Rigler, Derek Ray, Byron Lomow, Carey Lucyk, Ron Leef, Martin Burgers and Keith Miller.

On the fire/police team are former Komets Jim Logan, Kelly Hurd and Parris Duffus.

There will be a donation of $5, and all proceeds will go to the Lomow family.
